About YAG

The Youth Agri Challenge is a national initiative that encourages youth in Secondary Schools, Hubs and Universities that have inventions or innovations that can disrupt agribusiness to generate and submit their ideas. Junior Achievement Kenya has partnered with Citi Bank and Miti Alliance towards this program as they seek to expose youth to opportunities in the Agri business sector which is the backbone of the Kenyan economy. As part of the learning process, program beneficiaries will be exposed to experienced business mentors to ensure a quality learning experience.

YAG COMPETITION

The national competition will be preceded with a Boot Camp that will provide the finalists with an opportunity to interact and gain invaluable input from active practitioners in the Agri Business sector. The most outstanding enterprises from this competition will win a cash award of Kes. 250,000 and we will also identify ten centres of excellence nationally where we will set up nurseries to enable planting of seedlings that are relevant to the beneficiary centres/communities. JA Kenya will host a Virtual Company of The Year Competition in response to the restrictions brought about by the COVID – 19 Pandemic. The Boot Camp and Competition will be run from 11th – 12th November, 2021 and this will be our highlight activity during this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week.
